What is Medical Massage Therapy?
Medical Massage is result driven, site specific manual therapy. The techniques employed vary dependent on the client’s chronic or acute injuries, recent medical procedures, pain and muscle use patterns and overall progression.
What are the benefits of this type of bodywork?
Studies have shown that massage therapy can decrease inflammation, increase circulation, aide in digestion, help manage muscle pain, help sooth anxiety and stress and increase range of motion and joint mobility.
Medical Massage Therapy has proven to be a pivotal part of many rehabilitation regiments. This type of bodywork can be found in partnership with: physical therapy, chiropractic care, acupuncture, yoga and exercise therapy to name a few holistic care options. Medical Massage Therapy is often prescribed by medical professionals and can, in some cases, be covered or subsidized by your insurance plan.
